InBloom Psychotherapy – Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction
By attending counselling or psychotherapy sessions with InBloom Psychotherapy, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms ensure a safe, ethical, and professional environment for both client and therapist.

2. Confidentiality
All sessions are confidential and your personal information will be protected in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Information will not be shared without your written consent, except in the following situations:

  • If there is a risk of harm to yourself or others

  • If required by law or court order

  • If abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable person is disclosed

3. Appointments & Cancellations

  • Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length.

  • Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a full session fee unless there are exceptional circumstances.

4. Fees & Payments

  • Session fees will be confirmed at the time of booking.

  • Payments are due on the day of your session.

  • We accept payment via bank transfer, EFTPOS, or NDIS billing.

  • NDIS participants are responsible for ensuring sufficient funds are available for sessions.

5. Scope of Practice

  • InBloom Psychotherapy provides therapeutic services within the scope of counselling and psychotherapy.

  • We do not provide medical diagnosis, medication, or emergency crisis services.

  • If you are in crisis or need immediate support, please contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or 000 in an emergency.

6. Professional Boundaries

  • A respectful and professional relationship will be maintained at all times.

  • Dual relationships (e.g., social, business) that could impair professional judgment or increase the risk of harm are not permitted.

7. Record Keeping

  • Client records are kept securely for a minimum of 7 years (or until a minor turns 25, as per Australian standards).

8. Complaints and Incident Reporting
We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and high-quality service. If you have a concern or complaint, we encourage you to follow the process below:

How to Make a Complaint or Report an Incident:

  • Step 1: Raise the concern directly with your therapist, if you feel comfortable.

  • Step 2: If the issue is not resolved, you may submit a formal complaint in writing via email to: bookings@inbloomtherapy.com.au 

  • Step 3: All complaints will be acknowledged within 5 working days and responded to within 14 working days.

  • Step 4: If you are unsatisfied with the outcome, you may escalate the matter to:

    • PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia) via www.pacfa.org.au

    • NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (if applicable) via www.ndiscommission.gov.au

All complaints and incidents will be handled confidentially, respectfully, and in line with ethical guidelines.


9. Consent
By attending therapy sessions, you agree to these terms and conditions and provide your informed consent to participate in counselling or psychotherapy services.
